The Inspiration for this Blog

This blog draws its inspiration from the three-story von Siebenthal hardware and cookshop on the Promenade in Gstaad. Rebuilt after the fire that destroyed half of the village of Gstaad in 1898, von Siebethal is the oldest still existing shop in Gstaad. Its total floorspace occupying 500m2, this ancient hardware-store and family business has become one of the leading household and cookshops in Switzerland.
